On a beautiful setting about 15 minutes from Edinburgh, the Dalmahoy Marriott Hotel & Country Club has two golf courses, the Championship East Course and the West Course, both designed by James Braid.
The East Course has most recently hosted the Scottish Seniors Open in 2006, 2007 and 2008. We played the East Course. It is a park-setting course spread over acres of stunning Scottish countryside and surrounded by woodlands, streams, lakes and the Pentland Mountain. It’s an easy walking course with tight holes but still plenty of character. Thick rough but less fescue than the other courses we had been playing (a nice break).
The hotel’s main lobby and restaurants are in a Mansion setting just adjacent to the East Course and a great place to relax with a beverage after your round. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Congrats to Michelle from the Golf Shop on her 25 years with Marriott in August!
