Druids Glen Golf Course, Ireland (Eastcoast), July 2015

Self-proclaimed the “Augusta of Europe” Druids Glen is a park-land course absolutely perfectly manicured. While we have not (yet - we can hope) played Augusta, we happened upon some other visitors who had - and they said Augusta is still “a most special place and none can really compare”.

Designed by Pat Ruddy (also designer of The European Club) & Tom Craddock, the course opened in 1995. Just a year after opening, Druids Glen hosted the Irish Open for four years in a row.

Your are welcomed by a mansion-esk club house building that is a Members course but very hospitable to visitors.

The course is lush and luxuriously green with touches of stone bridges, waterways, hills and very creative shrubbery – you can't miss the Celtic Cross and the Druids Glen Logo. Well done grounds crew!

Our only recommendation would be an update to the hole markers, that look like small tombstones (yikes!).
