GOLFING KANSAS - STATE #47 - Cottonwood Hills

Updated: Aug 28, 2019

An adventure, this Nick Faldo design was recognized by Golf Digest as one of the best new courses in 2008. It was a challenging course, or better yet – dare we say - a crazy ride filled with twists, turns, hills and valleys that is very “unforgiving”. Target golf is a must, as there is very little room for error. Look out for hole #15! Jeff’s exact words at the end of that one were “what was Nick Faldo smoking when he designed this one”? However, it is a very forward friendly course, which allowed Liz to shoot within her average score –Jeff, not so much! A trip to the Golf Shop to re-stock on balls was needed – oh well! Overall, the staff was friendly, the course conditions were wonderful, and we’d recommend a visit if you are in the Hutchinson area of Kansas.

The tree arch in the lower left was the closest I could find to Dorothy's Rainbow!
